Enigmail is an extension for versions of the Mozilla Application Suite, SeaMonkey internet suite and Mozilla Thunderbird running on Microsoft Windows or Unix-like operating systems that provides public key e-mail encryption. Actual cryptographic functionality is handled by GNU Privacy Guard.
Both Enigmail and GNU Privacy Guard are free open-source software.
Enigmail's current version number is 1.0.0 as of 30 November 2009.[1]
