Pushbutton publishing is a term used by many web logging engines and services (more commonly known as blogs) to pair by association the idea of simplicity with the action of delivering content to the Net.
It is largely a marketing phrase, as in general it is not possible to simply "push a button" and publish. Many steps are required to get content onto the net so it is visible by the world.
While it is definitely a much simpler process than even 6 months ago as of June 2005[update], it is still inaccessible technology to the vast majority of computer owners.
