Serendipity is a PHP based blog and web-based content management system. It is available under a BSD license. It supports PostgreSQL, MySQL, and SQLite database backends, the Smarty template engine, and a plugin architecture for user contributed modifications.
The latest release of Serendipity is version 1.4.1. It was released on 16 January 2009 under the BSD license.

Book Publishing
Template:Infobox SW Books The first book about Serendipity is going to be published by OpenSourcePress: Serendipity - Individuelle Weblogs für Einsteiger und Profis.
It's going to be in German and will be written by Garvin Hicking. The book will be translated to English shortly after the German version is published.
The book is scheduled for the beginning of 2008 and will cover every aspect of Serendipity, for both newbies and developers.
